recap>MTL

Montréal oh Montréal… when I was there I was in at least four spots at the same time .. still in Chicago, already back in Vienna, in Canada and for sure I was lost a lot in my thoughts..
innerly torn appart again. I spent three weeks on different couches, learnt a lot about myself and the people I stayed with. One of the first events I attended was a party of some Colombian and German guys where my time in MTL officially started.
One of the first concerts I heard at Casa Obscura where Lori Freedman was performing during the concert series mercredi musiques with Sam Shalabi and others.
On a Saturday I took part in a foufem hacking event, a feminist hack day where I met many, very different and interesting woman. Woman working in informatics, performance, as ingeneers, mothers, woman who are interested in a very progressive feminist movement in Quebec. and I ended up going to Foulab a hacking space in MTL.
After my  three weeks of couch-expierence I moved to the Plateau.. where I was very nearby the locations and people I was interested in.
There was also a documentary film festival going on.. I watched les invisibles. I also went to see two black and white movies that were partly in German.
One other concert series I attended was Mardi Spaghetti at Cagibi.
Another Saturday I was volunteering at STEW, soirée de performance at Fonderie Darling where Rachel Echenberg, Michelle Lacombe, Christian Messier and Alexis Bellavance were performing.
Another and last concert I want to tell you about was at Casa del Popolo where amongst other Zs were playing. I really enjoyed this concert .. I was floating around, talking to lot’s of people, caring about a guy who was passing out all the time, drinking beer… a few days later I found out that my friends from Good Willsmith saw them perform in Chicago and spent some time with the band later .. as we did in MTL.. I missed my friends but at that moment I felt like sharing the ‘same’ experience and I knew I would come back to Northern America. (okay I already knew before)
The last night in MTL was a blast.. we had a tripple birthday, end of the world, moving in and moving out party with the 5 roommates and everyone who wanted to party with us. lot’s of the amazing people I met came and I met lot’s of new exciting people.

Montréal for me was very interesting, for sure because I met such a diversity of people concerning their idiologies, thoughts, what they are doing and where they are going.
