recap>MTL

Montréal oh Montréal… when I was there I was in at least four spots at the same time .. still in Chicago, already back in Vienna, in Canada and for sure I was lost a lot in my thoughts..
innerly torn appart again. I spent three weeks on different couches, learnt a lot about myself and the people I stayed with. One of the first events I attended was a party of some Colombian and German guys where my time in MTL officially started.
One of the first concerts I heard at Casa Obscura where Lori Freedman was performing during the concert series mercredi musiques with Sam Shalabi and others.
On a Saturday I took part in a foufem hacking event, a feminist hack day where I met many, very different and interesting woman. Woman working in informatics, performance, as ingeneers, mothers, woman who are interested in a very progressive feminist movement in Quebec. and I ended up going to Foulab a hacking space in MTL.
After my  three weeks of couch-expierence I moved to the Plateau.. where I was very nearby the locations and people I was interested in.
There was also a documentary film festival going on.. I watched les invisibles. I also went to see two black and white movies that were partly in German.
One other concert series I attended was Mardi Spaghetti at Cagibi.
Another Saturday I was volunteering at STEW, soirée de performance at Fonderie Darling where Rachel Echenberg, Michelle Lacombe, Christian Messier and Alexis Bellavance were performing.
Another and last concert I want to tell you about was at Casa del Popolo where amongst other Zs were playing. I really enjoyed this concert .. I was floating around, talking to lot’s of people, caring about a guy who was passing out all the time, drinking beer… a few days later I found out that my friends from Good Willsmith saw them perform in Chicago and spent some time with the band later .. as we did in MTL.. I missed my friends but at that moment I felt like sharing the ‘same’ experience and I knew I would come back to Northern America. (okay I already knew before)
The last night in MTL was a blast.. we had a tripple birthday, end of the world, moving in and moving out party with the 5 roommates and everyone who wanted to party with us. lot’s of the amazing people I met came and I met lot’s of new exciting people.

Montréal for me was very interesting, for sure because I met such a diversity of people concerning their idiologies, thoughts, what they are doing and where they are going.

chaotic memory…

time flies bye.. 12 days left in Chicago.. the last few days I was volunteering at the 48th Chicago International Film Festival great movies.. I saw Off-White Lies, a Israeli film and The Weekend, a German Film. It was really nice watching a movie in German.

Yesterday I finally had Chicago Deep Dish pizza.. ’cause everyone was telling me that I have to try it before I leave again.

I don’t know where to start now.. hm… right now I’m listening to classical voice lessons at home.. one girl was just singing “Ave Maria” .. what a nice saturday afternoon.

Last sunday Natalie Chami (TAL) and I played some ambient, experimental, noise music at Rodan. You would love it 😉 watch out for more.. maybe next June somewhere in Europe!
I also did some recording with Kg Price … my first drum+recorder encounter… nice sounds!

One Week ago we also went to HCL where Vice presented the Fourth Dimension film screening. “Three visionary filmmakers – Alexy Fedorchenko, Harmony Korine and Jan Kwiecinski– have created three unique stories that represent their interpretation of the higher plane of existence known as the Fourth Dimension. As viewers, we are given a glimpse of enlightenment through the eyes of three one-of-a-kind characters who are each on a journey that changes the way they see the world and themselves. Each Filmmaker provides a different perspective on what the Fourth Dimension is while keeping a common theme—by broadening your mind and changing your perspective on life, you can pave your own path to enlightenment.” I preferred FAWNS by Michal Kwiecinski I was caught by the story and the characters.. and liked the unpredictabilty of the story..

ha and I totally forgot about the Good Willsmith show at saki record store… where Angel Eyes from Australia played first followed by Good Willsmith. Both sets were very noisy. Good Willsmith use synths, voice, guitar, bass and electronics.

Tonight there’s an Outer Ear performance at ESS with Joseph Clayton Mills, Olivia Block, Noe Cuellar, Steven Hess and Jason Stein.. I think that’s going to be great.

whatever.. a lot is going on… I don’t know where to start 🙂 I forget about a lot of things that happen.. but it’s amazing!
